Black Belt of the Year
Each year consideration is given for the award of a Black Belt of the Year within Shorinjiryu Koshinkai Karatedo. Nominations are invited from the various Dojo Instructors, with those nominations reviewed by the Chief Instructors and the senior advisory council.
The Black Belt of the Year Award is presented each year at the National Yudansha Training Camp in August.
The following individuals have received the Black Belt of the Year award:

- 2006: Hanshi Myron Lubitsch (International Shorinjiryu Shinzen Kyokai)
